I wondered if you could remember to say a prayer for my Mom on Wednesday the 15th. She is having eye surgery and I'm sure all will go fine, but it's unsettling nonetheless. She has a hole in her macula (part of the retina) and this surgery is less than ideal, but if she doesn't have it soon, she will lose vision in her right eye. So, she has to do it. The crappy part is not the surgery itself, but the recovery time. A gas bubble is actually inserted into the eye in order to help seal the hole. She has to keep her head down for 45 minutes of every hour round the clock for 7-10 days and possibly 2-3 weeks, depending on the progress. She has rented a special piece of equipment that is supposed to make it easier to stay in this position. I cannot imagine the discomfort and boredom she will have to endure! But, the other alternative is lost vision, so I guess you just have to endure. Then, I'm dealing with my dad (who you all know has had heart problems since December) - he's doing okay, but he is very worried about his mortality. He is just on edge about something happening to him. I think more so since Mom is having this problem. His pacer/defibrillator that was put in is not keeping his heart in rhythm at all, and I think that's disturbing to him also. So, if you could just say some prayers to get us all through the next 2-3 weeks, I'd be most appreciative!!!!
