What a wonderful show today. I read on Twitter that the scene between, Billy, Lillian, & Frank was the actual last scene on the last day shot. Pay
attention to it as you can see the emotion in all of the actors. It was also noted that Billy turned his head and then turned back to Frank and said something
to the effect that we all need each other. When he turned his head he was looking at all the cast members watching the scene play out. Looks like next week
will be a big tear jerker. I got emotional just watching the previews. What a wonderful wonderful show full of great characters. I will miss them terribly.

I noticed Billy when he said that, too. It was very emotional. I know I will be crying all of next week.

There have been some really heart-wrenching scenes, the last few days. When Alan was talking to Phillip's headstone, not knowing
that Phillip was on the other side, it brought tears to my eyes. And, when Lizzie saw Sarah, today, I was crying. When Ashley went to Doris and told her how
much she loved her - another really good scene!
I really hate that this show is ending! There are so many stories left to tell!

The Alan/Phillip stuff has been really emotional. I think one of my favorite scenes this week was when Alan asked for the balloon from Phillip. Awesome.
My favorite was more serious and was when Jonathan went to visit Tammy. In soaps, it always seems like people forget certain things. Things that seem to be almost unforgivable or stuff that cant be ignored. For instance there is the Alan/Beth relationship and how that might affect Phillip and dont forget, where is the kid that Alan and Beth had? But here is a case with Jonathan/Tammy......never forgotten. Yes, life goes on......but the soap and the characters are forever attached and never forgotten. Also, when Jonathan opens the door and Lizzie seems so regular.....complete 180 when she sees Jonathan and then Sara. Good for Lizzie. Also, they didnt try and pretend that everything was honky dory with Jonathan and Bill. As far as the little girl that was casted as Sara......not a big fan of her. I think the kid is black or partially black. She just doesnt seem to resemble Jonathan or Lizzie. Last year, I thought they did a great job in the casting of Sara. That kid looks more like the spawn of Mel and Rick. But I guess it doesnt mean too much now. One thing I really got to notice today was how much Lillian and Beth seem to look alike. Perfect casting for a mother/daughter there.

I think I see a lot more physical resemblance between Tina Sloan's Lilian and Judi Evans's (the originator of the role of) Beth:

Incidentally, Judi Evans just joined ATWT as a new character by the name of Maeve. So far, I am enjoying her role. I did love her Beth Raines, and yes, Beth Chamberlin has really done a marvelous job of making Beth her own role over the years, but for me, Judi Evans is always the one whose image comes to mind when I think of Beth Raines.

I liked the show, but it was sloppily put together. They are going to play a game of baseball and Frank says he will get a few more gloves. Then Rafe says
"Frank's back" and they pick teams which Rafe says is uneven even though each team has 4 people on it. Then Frank is with Lillian and Billy at
Marina's house. Josh says he will watch the boys and then he shows up to play ball while Reva and Jon are still at Lizzie's. Where did he leave Colin?
Then Frank is back to play ball. It just seems when they edited it they got stuff out of order. Frank's scene with Lillian and Billy should have been
between when Frank said he knew where he could find some more gloves and Rafe saying, "Frank's back". And Frank told Lillian he was just over
there to pick up some "tools".
I loved the individual scenes and I know that with the show ending they are trying to get a lot into each show, but today's show could have been put together a lot better, IMO. I loved the scenes with Josh and Reva, Lizzie getting to see Sarah and all the hospital stuff. I am even willing to overlook that no one would be allowed to see Phillip without a mask and gown since his immune system should be zilch right now. I hope next week's shows are great and I'm not saying "huh?" a lot. I hate to see the show come to an end. "Farewell happens here"

I kept thinking about how all the people were walking into Phillip and Alan's room without masks or gowns. For such a serious brand-new procedure, there
weren't any percautions. Within an hour, they new everything would be fine. I know that it was rushed b/c of the show ending though.
Now I want to see Jeffrey and Jonathan come out of the Edmund encounter safely. I REALLY want to see Jeffrey come back to Reva. If those things happen before the show ends, I'll be really really happy. I thought that Sarah looked like a good mix between Lizzie and Jonathan -- dark hair like Jonathan's, but curly like young Lizzie's. |

i think sarah (or the person who plays her) is absolutely gorgeous so i do not care if she does or does not look like lizzie or jonathon..she is just too darn
cute.

I like the little one playing Sarah too. She is just too cute. That kind of nit picking is what cost the show. Im sorry but all the negativity killed something
I loved all my life and while I may have not liked some of the characters or storylines I loved the show and the actors so I shrugged, giggled, rolled my eyes,
but stayed tuned in and loved the people on the show just the same with the realization that they did their very best with what they had. My belief system is
if I cant change it i try to roll with it.

Eh...Whatever she is, I think she's adorable. I actually liked that they had a little dark haired girl, so many are blond, and being of the dark haired
persuasion myself, I like to see it represented. I see it that she's dark like daddy and curly like mommy.
As far as nitpicking, I don't see it as such, I see a person expressing a question or thought. IMPO bad writing killed the show, not fan nitpicking, had they written the show better we'd have watched and not noticed some of the oddities, or just been so engrossed we wouldn't care. To each their own. |

I agree with Ms Mistoffelees, in all points in her post above.
I see an expression of opinion, no more and no less in what Jonathan had written. I happen to disagree with him too, but I was too pre-occupied with work to write it all up - but others have expressed my opinion for me. Fans being dissatisfied with the show should be a signal for the writers and producers to come up with better character-driven plots that are well executed. We are consumers of this soap opera, and many of us have been very unhappy for a long time about how our well-expressed critiques of the show were being completely disregarded. I am very sorry that the show fell by the wayside, but in my opinion (that is all it is: my opinion), the reason that we have come to this pass is due to executive hubris which totally disregarded the history and ethos of this beloved soap opera. Most fans voted with their feet. It is only those of us who cared enough about the show who stood up and expressed our discontent. Let us not blame the victims of executive mishandling for the death of this beloved soap ... again, jmo, that is all. |

Sorry to see a near final episode was poorly produced as this one was. I hate glaring gaps in timelines. I am happy to see the characters resolving issues and
getting along. It is something to remember fondly when the show is long gone. Five episodes left. Hard to believe.
TV Guide has an GL Finale article. Be warned: it gives Storylines away. |
