Co-Head Writer David Kriezman says that ATWT will return to the characters and couples that viewers hold most dear on November. "There is a real chance to tell some bigger stories -- stories that connect a lot of people in town and a lot of the favorites -- and definitely to reach back into history. But really, it's just to focus on the people we think our audience cares about most," he teases.
- The demise of Guiding Light has inspired As The World Turns to pull out all the stops storytelling-wise and production-wise, so Carly and a male suitor will be going on a big road trip that airs through November. They will be visiting a bunch of different towns and seeing characters from the past at each stop.
- What happens to Brad puts Jack in a place we've never seen him in before. He questions everything about himself, the world and his family. Jack doesn't feel like he can be the moral center of the town anymore. Carly returns from rehab to find him in a horrible place. She will do everything in her power to help him out -- just like the many times he's helped her in the past.
- Craig and Rosanna continue telling themselves that they can have an affair because Carly won't want Craig when she comes back from rehab anyway. A wrench is thrown into their plans when Carly returns to town and says that one of the things that got her through rehab was thinking about Craig waiting for her.
- Tom Pelphrey joins the show in a fun, crazy storyline with Paul, Barbara, Emily and Alison. His character (Mick) comes to Oakdale promising Barbara and Emily that he can change their lives forever!
- Alison and Casey will be pulled back toward each other. Although Casey has started a relationship with Maddie, Alison is the one who's really in his heart. Hunter tries to play matchmaker with Alison and Casey, but Alison tries to stay focused on her work. That's when Mick shows up. She sees him in the basement of the hospital, and at first she thinks he's scary -- but then she realizes he may have something to offer.
- Holden tries to deal with the fact that Lily got married while he was "dead," but he faces some difficulty in getting over it. Holden tries to move on while Lily tries to win him back. Ultimately, she decides that staying with Damian is her best option. Meawhile, Meg has a rough time letting go of Damian and she starts to figure out that maybe there is more to Holden's absence than Damian is letting on.
- Mason becomes more and more aggressive with Noah. He makes it clear that he wants Noah and he doesn't care if Luke is in the way. Viewers will see a little more of Luke's "Damian" side coming out in November, and his actions will have some serious consequences for him and Noah.
- Teri will develop feelings for Dusty as she begins working for him. Dusty, however, is not interested. When Jack leaves town and Janet is left feeling vulnerable, Dusty and Janet will enter each other's lives. Dusty will help Janet through a difficult time. Not romantically, but as a friend.
- Nancy will go on a few dates "for holidays and stuff." She will also be part of the Alison and Casey storyline.
