Wow, this is just terrible, I may not have followed ATWT but I certainly am sorry to hear more bad news.

Well, it's becoming more and more obvious that soaps are on their way out. What a shame! Some of the best actors are on daytime
television and I, personally, think there is still a place for these programs. But, I don't think we, the little people, matter anymore. Sad, sad, sad!

That was the last one I knew anything about. I used to watch it a long time ago. When I did see an episode i still knew some of the characters. How very
sad....the end of the daytime dramas.

Just came on board with ATWT, and was thinking about recapping it on a daily/semi-daily basis over here for you all. I miss recapping GL with all my heart,
seems like if I do it it'll be me recapping another ending...*sigh*

I haven't followed ATWT too closely either, but these shows go back a few generations in my family....not sure if it's their fault, but I've got to
blame someone, so if there is a way to do it, I'm totally blocking CBS from my tv.......uggggggg....I haven't really watched anything on CBS since GL,
but this is just toooo much.

Unfrickenbelievable.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

I think this might be harder to take than GL because I thought they were free for another year. When it goes off the air, I am done with Y&R and Criminal
Minds too. That will complete my CBS viewing.

I just saw this on Yahoo! I'm not surprised, but I hate to see it. I haven't watched ATWT in years mainly because I switched to Days to record (they
were on at the same time here). Now I don't watch any. I watched AMC for a while, but it is not very good right now. I figure they will all go one by one
over the next few years.
So sad.

I haven't been on here in ages, but I saw the headline in my inbox "ATWT cancelled."
I can't believe this! Next month marks ten years that I have been watching. Is this absolute or could fan campaigns buy it some more time? I could've sworn that I had just read somewhere the other day that it was renewed.

Another article that does mention looking for another venue. 1st article that was mentioned I've seen thus far, but I'm not holding my breath

I agree w/everyone, especially you, soapyscraps. I was finally beginning to venture back into the soaps pool w/ATWT only to have it now cancelled. I
don't see myself getting invested in any of the others - I've tried them all and could never stay interested.
I guess for me, this is the end of my participation in the genre, and I don't believe the networks are invested in them. CBS has certainly done everything it could to get out of the daytime drama industry (Y&R and B&B are Bell soaps hosted on CBS), NBC is down to one and that one is shaky, and ABC is somewhat interested. Between GL going out earlier this year, AMC moving to LA and ATWT ending next year this is impacting the industry in NYC. This will have me embracing my computer even more than now. I guess we all move on - this is just so sad. (Just my rumblings - sorry). |

What happened? I don't watch it all that often, but my daughter was. She said it was really getting good again. What will they find to put in its place,
another game show. ba hum bug....... I still can't turn my tv on at 3:00 in the afternoon, the pain has not gone away at all.

Not surprised at all. I knew when GL the longest running soap was being canceled that it wouldn't be long for ATWT to follow
P & G wants out of the soap business and NYC obviously. I am surprised that it is going until September of 2010. |

Well - that's the end of my soap watching. I don't watch ATWT regularily like I did GL but there was a time that I did and I hate to see it end, too. I
am so saddened to hear this news.
