Disc 1: Great Weddings
Over the course of 72 years, Guiding Light featured almost every type of wedding imaginable. This disc contains five of the best, starring some of the most beloved couples in the history of the series.
Episode 1: Kelly Nelson Marries Morgan Richards ( August 18, 1981)
This marriage started out as a student-teacher romance. Kelly Nelson (Emmy winner John Wesley Shipp) was originally hired as a tutor for the young and beautiful Morgan Richards (Kristen Vigard). At the time, each was in a serious relationship with someone else. After a long courtship filled with angst, teacher and student were finally wed. The ceremony was held at a picturesque outdoor location, Springfield’s Laurel Falls.
Tom and Margo's marriage, unlike many in Oakdale, endured until the end of the program’s run, in September 2010. It was, in fact, the longest-lasting on-air marriage in soap opera history.

Nola Reardon (Emmy nominee Lisa Brown) is ready to marry her dream man, Quinton Chamberlain (Michael Tylo). But, at the last minute, she realizes that she has no way to get to the church. Her solution is unorthodox, but it works, and the couple are successfully married in a grand and gorgeous ceremony.

Episode 3: Johsua Lewis Marries Reva Shayne (July 18, 1989)

But not before marrying and divorcing his brother and father. In this episode, Reva at last picks the right Lewis family member. She and Joshua are married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony, with brother and father happily in attendance.

They fall in love while working together on a dangerous investigation of mob families in Springfield. After four years, they are finally getting married in this episode. But the day is almost ruined when a supposedly dead man gets involved.

Episode 5 : Billy Lewis Marries Vanessa Chamberlain (September 14, 2009)
As was not uncommon in Springfield, Billy Lewis (Emmy winner Jordan Clarke) and Vanessa Chamberlain (Emmy winner Maeve Kinkead) had a complicated relationship. Over the course of three decades they fell in love, married and divorced each other, married and divorced other people, fell back in love, and finally decided to marry each other again.
In one last detour, after overhearing that their friends Buzz Cooper (Emmy winner Justin Deas) and Lillian Raines (Tina Sloan) have also decided to marry, they spontaneously turn their special day into a fabulous double wedding, with two sets of friends and families in attendance.

Nola Reardon (Emmy nominee Lisa Brown) is determined to marry handsome Kelly Nelson (Emmy winner John Wesley Shipp) at any cost, even though she knows he is already in love with Morgan Richards (Kristen Vigard). After Nola becomes pregnant by another man, she tricks Kelly into believing that the child is his, and convinces him to abandon Morgan and marry her. Will Kelly leave town with Reva?

Episode 2: And Carrie Makes Three (July 12, 1982)

Carrie's condition leads her sister-in-law Jackie Marler to think that her husband is sleeping with Carrie. Then, a tragic turn of events causes Carrie to doubt her own sanity.

Things come to a head at Mindy’s birthday party, where Beth’s jealous stepfather Bradley (James Rebhorn) becomes furious at Phillip. In the heat of the moment Bradley loses control of himself, and reveals a long-hidden truth that will change Phillip’s life forever.

Devastated, Maureen flees to the Bauer family cabin, where Ed tracks her down. In an emotional confrontation, Maureen tells Ed he has broken her heart. Unbeknownst to either of them, it will be their last conversation.

Episode 5 . The Spaulding Ex-Wives Club (October 18, 2002)
At an important Spaulding Enterprises board meeting, Phillip Spaulding (Emmy nominee Grant Aleksander) and his aunt Alexandra (DYNASTY star Joan Collins) are in a death struggle for control of the company. At a critical moment, Alexandra reveals that she has bought enough stock so that all of Phillip’s ex-wives can vote for or against him. Phillip still thinks he has a chance, and the tension is excruciating as the women reveal their votes one by one.

Disc 3: Springfield Through the Years
Some of Guiding Light’s most memorable episodes marked holidays, special occasions, and show anniversaries. This disc contains the 50th anniversary show from 1987, and the 70th anniversary show from 2007. It also contains the Christmas show from 1983, the 15,000th episode show (2006), and a fantasy episode where Ross Marler encounters all the women in his life. (1992).
Episode 1: Christmas, 1983 (December 23, 1983)
Many of the show’s best-loved characters are in attendance when the Bauer, Lewis and Reardon families gather on Christmas Eve. In a highlight, Mike Bauer (Don Stewart) serenades his family with a holiday song. Meanwhile, in New York, Beth Raines (Emmy winner Judi Evans) and Phillip Spaulding (Grant Aleksander) are helped out of a jam by a kindly old man with a white beard (Rex Everhart). Is it just a coincidence that his name is Nick?

Episode 2: The 50th Anniversary Show (July 3, 1987)
The Bauer barbecue was a much-loved annual tradition in Springfield. In this 50th anniversary episode, a surprise guest crashes the party in a most unexpected way. At the end of the episode, actor Ed Bryce, who played Bill Bauer, returns to pay tribute to the late Charita Bauer, who played his wife Bert for over thirty years.

I In this fantasy episode, Reva Shayne (Emmy winner Kim Zimmer) awakens in a “Bizarro Springfield”, where she meets alternate versions of the people in her life. Her experiences make her realize that she should be more appreciative of the people and things in her real world.

The 1930s, 1940s and 1950s are revisited, as the show begins on radio and transitions to television. Beth Ehlers gives an inspired performance as the show's legendary creator, Irna Phillips.

Ed Bauer (Mart Hulswit) and his brother, Mike (Don Stewart) pursue their nemesis Roger Thorpe (Emmy winner Michael Zaslow) through the jungles of Santo Domingo. In an ironic twist, Roger must depend on an enemy to avoid plummeting to his death.

He takes out his grief and anger on Reva, who is now his mother-in-law. In a climactic confrontation by a fountain, Reva bares more than just her soul.
