I think we should have an "Introduce yourself" post so we can all get to know each other! So if you feel like sharing, go ahead and post! We can introduce ourselves to the new members! My name is Elizabeth and I've been watching GL for a long time now! I started this board a year ago because the board where I used to post was deleted one day. I mean, I went over there and it was gone! Apparently, of of the admins had a fight with the other one and went in and deleted the whole board! Ak! I am still a newlywed (1.5 years ago) and I am crazy about my French husband Jean-David (although he speaks English so well you would not be able to tell he was French!), so you will hear a lot about him! He is the coolest most awesome guy in the world! (Plus he's a total babe!) He has a lot of comments about Guiding Light, and they are so funny that I sometimes will share them with the group. We live in Austin, Texas, and we think it is heaven! JD has lived here about 2 years now and he loves it. We live about 15 minutes from Lake Travis and we go there often just to hang out and picnic. We love the sun! If the weather is great, you will see two happy campers at our house! In my spare time, I like to scuba dive, rock climb, and a lot of other sports. JD is very athletic and it keeps me motivated! I also play classical guitar to relax. My mother taught me when I was just a little girl and I have been playing ever since. One of my favorite things is my cats. I have two 12 week old kittens, a gray one named "Snookie" and a black one named "Elvis." We also have a big cat named "Cinder" who is just a cutie! I look forward to getting to know all of you new people and also look forward to talking to the regulars - as usual! Oh my goodness, this is old! I just read this - I wrote it years ago! LOL! But it is all still good (but the #s are off!) I have been married 8 years now and I started the board in 2001! JD is still a babe, however! I have had the best time posting and getting to know everyone. This is a great board and I have developed some really neat friendships! I love hearing everyone's opinions and enjoy sharing not only GL things, but off topic things too. I am 33 years old and have watched GL since I was 5! My mom has been watching for way more than 30 years! I am a stay-at-home mother of two. My daughter, Kaitlin, will be seven years old next month and my son, Gunnar, is 3 1/2. My husband, Ron, and I have been married 11 years. Even though I stay at home with the kids, I do medical transcription. That keeps me pretty busy and also brings in some extra income. I have been a medical transcriptionist for 12 years. I live in a small town (about 1200) in Ohio called Frankfort. Everybody knows everybody and their business! In addition to GL, I also watch AMC. But, GL is my favorite. The only other TV shows I watch are Survivor and ER. Love both those shows! Like Elizabeth, I love cats. I have been a huge cat lover my entire life, and my daughter is following in my footsteps. I have two cats, Toby, who is 11 years old, and Gracie, who is two years old. Toby lives inside and Gracie lives outside (by her own stubborn choosing!). I also am a bird lover. My daughter got hooked on birds when she was about four years old and I began to learn a lot about them too! I love to watch them now and can recognize about any bird I see as well as their sounds! They are so interesting. Loving cats and birds sometimes makes for a tricky combination! I also love to read, but don't get enough time to do it! I also do a lot of volunteer work at my church and at my daughter's school. I am a huge Jeff Gordon fan. So is my husband! I am anxiously awaiting to attend my first Nascar race! Not sure when that will be, but hopefully soon! I used to be a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, but my heart just isn't in it since my two faves, Troy Aikman and Daryl Johnston, retired. Watching just isn't the same. I really don't have too many hobbies. Being a mom/wife/typist takes up about all my time! But, I always try to visit the board once a day to see how things are going and if I'm missing anything. Hello and welcome to all new members! Please post with us. The more, the merrier! Jamie

I"ve been hooked on GL for more years than I can say. My mom got me hooked and she use to listen to it on the radio. I'm 56,a widow since 84,have 2 children ,a girl and a boy, and 2 wonderful grands, Logan ,who'll be 9 in July and Matt who's 4. We're pretty busy these days with summer baseball. I had polio back in the 50's when I was a child and am disabled now. Without my soaps and my pc to keep my company I'd be in a mess. Over the last 2 years I've had to have my two pet doggies ,who were almost 17 and 14,to sleep. Was soooo hard to lose my roomies. Don't know if I"ll get another or not. It's great to find friendly board on here to post my opinions on. Oh yes, I also love to read but only books with happy endings.What can I say, I guess I like to think there is a happier ever after. hehehehe.

I have two children and three grandchildren so I keep pretty busy. Elizabeth, I lived for quite a few years in Austin because we went to UT. Hook 'em horns!!! I have watched GL for more years than I want to say. I still miss Roger and I am really looking forward to Ed coming back. Currently, I'm back in school working on a post-baccalaureate degree in Chemistry--my intended major the last time I was in school--but that didn't pan out so well. Anyway, I'm trying again. Besides GL, my passions are anything to do with snakes, the Kennedy assassination, and Helter Skelter. I'm also a musical nut and a music fan in general (country, rock, oldies) I also love 80's tv shows and any crime tv show--I watch a lot of Forensic Files and FBI Files, too. I collect lighthouses, Precious Moments, and Gone With the Wind junk. I'm a strange individual. As for GL, I like: The Coopers, GusH, Bloss, Jeva, and a few others but dislike where most of the show is these days. I miss Jezz, terribly. Besides Marley, that was my fav pairing from the 'Good ole days'.

I have been married to my high school sweet heart since November of 94. We have 3 daughters, Blake =) 6, Cara 4, and Fae 2. I have been a Guiding Light fan since 89. I am opinionated, and have been told I have a wierd sense of humor. I grew up in Southern California, and have been transplanted to South Dakota. Anyone else from here? ... I didn't think so. I have a 3 yo female Pekingese named DeeDee, and a 1 yo male Tabby Cat named Dexter. And yes the children did name them. ~God Bless America~

I taught school for 10 years, but quit when my 5 y/o was born with a congenital heart defect and I was needed more at home. Now I have a data entry and mail processing job that I do from home for extra income. I am married to a "Gus sized", cocky little cowboy who I adore! I haven't ever posted on this board, but I lurk here quite often. I recognize some of your names from the GusH board. I've watched Guiding Light since I was very small - I can remember watching it as a child with my mom and my grandmother. In college, my roommate and I raced each other to the television each day, as she was a GH fan and I was a GL fan. We weren't roomies for long! My favorite characters were the 4 Muskateers when I was in high school, because they were roughly the same age. When Harley burst onto the scene, she and A-M were my faves, and I absolutely loved her with Mallet. When she left, so did I. I was flipping through the channels last Oct. (I think) when I caught a glimpse of RPG, who I really enjoyed on AW. Then I saw Harley in that jail cell - in labor - and I was once again hooked. You guys seem like a great bunch here! ~Sheri

I've been married to Carl for 26 years this past February and together we have 3 children......Cory 25, Melissa 22 and Casey just turned 17. Melissa is married to Daniel and together they have the light of my life....little Charis who just turned 5. They are expecting their second child in November. Carl also has 9 other children, 8 living and one that died as an infant and he has many grandchildren which makes for some pretty big family get-togethers. We live in the country on 2+ acres. I am an elected government official plus I mow the local cemetary and I babysit Charis when her Mommy and Daddy are working. She's more like my own child than a grandchild - I've been very blessed to be able to spend so much time with her. They lived downstairs in our home for the first 3 years of her life so she loves to be here with us. They are going to be building a new home right directly across the road from us either this year or next year so she will be back living by us again soon. We can't wait. I do volunteer work for our church and for boy scouts. I used to do so much volunteering for the schools and girl scouts, too, but haven't had to in a few years. My hobbies.....hmmmmm.....I'm not sure I have time for hobbies. LOL! I love birds and do everything I can to attract them to our yard. We have purple martins and bluebirds, which are tied as my favorites. I am a Disney fan and LOVE to go to Walt Disney World. We've been to WDW 6 times and was on our first Disney cruise this past October. We all can't wait to go again. When we go it's usually the 7 of us.....unless Cory brings a friend along, too. And after November there will be another one. I love country music and dancing. I have a 1970 SS 396 Chevelle that I love to show off when I can. I've been watching GL for at least 30 years. It used to be on only 30 minutes way back when. I was thrilled when they changed it to an hour. I used to watch AMC but gave that up a LONG LONG time ago. I also do catch ATWT occasionally. I used to watch it daily but just don't have the time anymore. I can't remember when I registered on this site but everyone here has been so friendly and pleasant to hang out with. Thanks everyone!

India is my native land, Canada is my second home and now, I am an American as well. I live with my husband of 25 years in Santa Clara Valley, California. I am a biochemical / chemical scientist by training, and he is a software engineer. We have lived in various parts of this country and Canada, and seem to have finally settled here these last 14 years. My husband is a wonderful fellow, and after all these years, still the most fascinating person I have ever known. I am an avid gardener and love to grow roses; am a mystery novel addict, Star Trek watcher, and so on. We tend to do a lot of hiking together when we are not gardening together. This group is a collection of wonderful people and I am very grateful for the civility, warmth, and the sheer good-naturedness that is abundant in this forum. But I post very frequently on the Robert Newman message board because I am the VP of his Official Fan Club. I also post frequently on the Kim Zimmer Official message board. I am a strong Jeva fan. I also help out my dear friend, Sylvia on her board. It is called Grandma Sylvia's Jeva board. I love Kim and Robert and have met them once. I am a 62 year old mother of one and a grandmother of three. My daughter's name is Charlotte,and my grandbabies are Jeffrey age 11, Nathan age 8, and Bethany Rose age 5. I was a nurse before I became disabled from MS. I live near Kansas City, Mo. I live with my daughter and her family in a small apartment in the basement of their home. I am wheel chair bound. Posts: 207 (05/25/02 11:28:09) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Hello, all ... my real name is Pat, and I am a 61-year old mother of four sons (including a set of twins), with four granddaughters and one grandson. I also have a very special cat, whose name is Spot (named by one of the kids, in case you didn't guess that already!!). Hence, my tag name. I found this board when I was home recovering from surgery for a brain aneurysm, and although I used to post more often, lately I have been doing more lurking. Just not enough hours in the day now that I am back to work fulltime. I work at a local university and am the database administrator/director for our alumni/donor information system. So I love computers! In my spare time (when I get any), I work on my web page for aneurysm victims and their families, and I also love to read and write poetry. GL has been my all time favorite soap for a very long time. My grandmother used to listen to it on the radio (it was fifteen minutes long back then), and I remember being "hooked" at a very young age and running home from school for lunch to hear all about the Bauers. I think I grew up with a crush on Mike Bauer, actually! I am eagerly waiting for Ed Bauer to come back, and I hope he hooks back up with Holly. She deserves better than Buzz (sorry if I offend anyone) in my opinion. I was a longtime Roger fan, and Ed comes closest to being the second true love of her life, I believe. It is nice to meet the folks behind the names, and I want to thank Elizabeth for starting this post! This certainly is a warm, friendly site, and I am grateful for that, too.

I stated with "Dark Shadows" and then Days of Our lives and then General hospital. General Hospital mad me mad by putting two people together and i left that one and turned to Guilding Light. The characters left the show and i now watch it again. I watch Port Charles, DOOL, General Hospital and Guilding Light.

I have to admit, I've been a lurker for quite some time now, I really enjoy this site, and after reading about Ms. Spotman & LynnB's experiences with aneurysms, I decided I HAD to register! (My dad had a massive cerebral aneurysm Nov. 7, 2001 and is slowly recovering) I am a HUGE GL fan. I am 24 years old and currently live in Syracuse, NY. I can remember sneaking the tv on in our dining room and watching it from underneath our table when i was 6 or 7, which was when I became hooked! I took a 3 year hiatus when I entered college, but am as hooked now as I have ever been. Oddly enough, the love of my life, Jason, is also a fan of GL and he had watched it with his mom when he was a kid! I was soooo depressed when Noah left, what a hunk! A little about me: I live with my boyfriend of 4 years and my two cats, Leo and Guster. Jason and I are planning on getting engaged this summer! I graduated from college 2 years ago and am still finding out what makes me tick! Thank you for creating this great board, I have enjoyed it immensly and am glad I have decided to become a "full fledged" member!

I'm 24 years old and I live in upstate NY. I do systems analysis/training for a living, although it's not necessarily long term job! I have one cat living with me, Gus, two cats that live with my parents, and one that lives with my brother (although I steal him occasionally to come visit me ), so you could definitely say I'm a cat person! I was never a soap fan at all until I got hooked on GL in college. A friend of mine used to tape every single soap known to man, and while we were waiting for a third friend to get back from class before lunch, she would fast forward through all of them, claiming she could "just tell" what was going on. Well, somehow I got hooked on the story involving Annie when they had an intervention for her, and I started making her stop fast forwarding during those parts. That evolved into getting to know all of the characters and storylines, and I've been a total addict for about 5-6 years now! It's only GL, though - I don't like any other soaps, this is the only one that grabbed my attention because the characters can be so down to earth and easy to love. It's just a wonderful show, through all of its ups and downs. I'm not really a fan of any particular character or anything, I love the whole show...but I do especially like the Santoses, Harley and Gus, and Blake and Ross. I just started posting here about a week or two ago, so I'm very new! I lurked here for about one day before I decided to start posting because everyone seemed so nice, and there were a lot of discussions going on about different storylines and opinions, and yet it was so friendly...not to slanted any one direction! From what everyone says, this wasn't a fluke and it really is nice here all the time, so I'm looking forward to posting here a lot!

I am a newlywed (9 months) and we moved because of my husband's job. I am 27 and a stay at home mom. I have a 6 year old son named Connor and a dog (weimeraner) named Jack. I just graduated from college in December and this is the first time in my life that I haven't been in school or working. Its also a little boring out here so I read a lot of books and magazines (mostly about true crime and politics) and watch and play a lot of sports. But the only soap I watch is Guiding Light. I have been a GL addict for 7 years, and glad I dont have to tape it anymore! I found this website in February and I love it! Good to meet all of ya'll. And Elizabeth, you have done a GREAT job with this site. Thanks!

My mom, two older sisters and I would watch all the CBS soaps when I was younger. Now, I only watch GL. I met my husband, Jeff, playing co-ed softball. We play for two teams. It gets us out of the house and we have a lot of fun. We also love camping, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. I have two adorable girls, ages 2 1/2 and 10 months. Plus, I am a daycare provider. The children keep me very busy. That's probably the reason I only get to watch one soap! My mom is the only one I know who watches GL around here. Whenever I talk to her about the show, my dad thinks we're talking about real people. He always says, "Who in the world are you talking about?" So, it's great to find more people to discuss the show with. It's fun to guess what's going to happen next. I've been trying to find a chat room for Guiding Light. If anyone knows of one let me know. I'm a rookie when it comes to chatrooms and boards. I thought I was logging onto a GL site last night, but it was someone named "GL"'s private chatroom. I was so embarrassed!

I live in Western NY with my husband, 2 sons, 2 male cats and my girl dog. We are definently out-numbered here! I have been watching Gl since I was 11 or 12 with my mom and we still will sit and talk about it now.I used to lurk at different, WAAY less friendly gl board, so I was very happy to find this one. I actually feel like I can post regardless of what I feel. I look forward to getting to know everyone and posting some replies. Happy memorial day. :) E

I have a wonderful husband, Josh, two beautiful children Hayden-3, and Landon-1. I am a stay-at-home mom, although whoever coined that phrase obviously was a man!! Ha-Ha.
