My nephew got discount coupons and we were thinking about going up there this summer. It's almost a 5 hour drive for us, so we are debating still. Is it a good amusement park? Are there cheap places to stay around there for a night? Any info would be appreciated. I've looked online and all that but I thought I'd get your opinion. Thanks.

I really can't tell you how great it is compared to other amusement parks - I haven't been to any other!!!!! We love it, though. I guess they have changed it quite a lot this season. It used to be owned by Paramount and had the Paramount movie theme - now it is owned by another company and I guess they've renamed some rides and are trying to make it more "hometown" and like it used to be years ago. It takes me about an hour or a little more to get there. I will do some checking for you - we have stayed in a Baymont Inn just a couple of miles from the park two different times. But, I know it's not Baymont Inn anymore - it's got a different name. But, it was just 59.99 per night three or so years ago. And, it was really nice. We are actually going to spend the night in Cincinnati in June - going to a Reds game and I need to find somewhere to stay. I'll do some checking and let you know. If you decide on going - let me know! We are going to go to KI sometime this summer - maybe we could go when you do - I would love to see you in person! I usually try to go during the week - I can't stand weekends - way too busy. If you can arrange to go on a Tuesday or Thursday - it seems to be less busy. Let me know what you decide. Jamie

Posts: 6520 (04/25/08 08:12:09) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	We would be going during the week. We try never to go to a theme park on the weekend. I don't know when or if we will be going yet. My niece's bf leaves for the Marines on June 30 so it would probably be before then if we do. My brother rarely has any money, so they may not be able to go. My bf and I might take the niece and nephew; I don't know. My bf has been working a lot of OT and I don't know how long that will last. My niece will ride anything so she and my bf usually tackle the scary rides. My nephew doesn't ride a lot of stuff, but he really likes the water park side of the theme parks. I usually end up with him at the pool for a couple of hours. Do let me know about that hotel if you find out. I'll let you know later one when we know something for sure.
