ATWT tumbled all the way to 1.6, as did DAYS.
YR fell to a low of 3.2 again, while BB fell sharply to 2.2.
GH rose to 2.0 and may overtake B&B now that a few key Port Charles denizens have returned.
Meanwhile GL still stands at 1.5.

More hope for GL ratings, as all soaps fall big while GL stands ground |

How do soaps get people to watch them anyway? Is it by word of mouth or luck? I know I got hooked on GL because it came after ATWT and I was already watching
that. (The tv guy told us it was better to leave the tv on then turn it off and on a lot! haha) They don't seem to promote GL very well. I know that
Soaps in Depth rarely has GL or ATWT on the cover. I have only met one or two people that watch GL.

The thing is, A lot of people are "closet watchers",They don't want to admit that they watch because you might think they are uneducated or
common.
I'll betcha if you snuck up to their house unexpected, you would catch them redhanded watching "That garbage". You mention Lisa or Nancy (ATWT) or Victor (Y&R) and they know who you are talking about. |

This is hopeful!
I started watching when I was in college because a group of us would go to lunch together every day, but we had to wait until the last one got out of class. In the meantime, with nothing better to do, I would sit around with the other girl who was catching up on her "stories" taped from the day before. The only one that caught my interest was GL. I think that's how most people start watching - they watch with a relative or a friend and are hooked on it before they realize what happened. |

Ditto, my sister and I used to go stay on the farm with our grandfather and his wife (not related to us) watched GL. She got me hooked. After I went to
college, I used to go to Schlotzki's and they always had it playing. I would go eat lunch there at 2 intentionally to watch GL with others.
I will never forget when Prez. Regan was shot and my roommates were watching AMC and would not change the channel to see what happened. I thought they were pretty stupid. Of course, if it were GL, they would have cut in! LOL |

I can't believe they didn't cut in for the President getting shot! Wow! They cut into GL to tell us there's a thunderstorm coming!

I just read a book where they referenced someone watching GL with their grandmother, twice in the book!

My mom watched it ... I can remember as far back as HB - Reva - Josh - Billy. The Bauers. Etc. I've watched it on and off since then ... so maybe early
1980s?

I've watched all my life with my mother. She used to watch all the ones on CBS or at least have them on while she did other things. I don't watch any
of the others now; I picked up watching Days in middle school and watched it throughout college, but stopped during the Marlena possession storyline. I now
tape and watch AMC and watch GL on the web if the daily recaps sound interesting.

My MIL watches GL but only during the summer - she is a teacher. Thank goodness, it gives us something to talk about!!
I started watching in 1977! I'd get home from school and mom would be
watching, feeding my little brother. I remember back to the days when Ed & Mike Bauer's dad, Bill I believe his name was, was on trial for a
murder???? I believe he was an alcoholic also. Man, that's 31 years ago!!! These people are like my family and I would hate, hate to see GL canceled. I
have to say, last week I was actually bored watching. Last Friday and this week, WOW!!! These past few days have been like GL of old - great writing,
absolutely fantastic acting - RN, KM & BC are all shining, IMO, and SLs with some meat to them! Awesome!
I sure do miss my Gus - he is eye candy, baby!

I grew up watching soaps (My grandma watched them, Mom grew up with them, she watched them, so I grew up watching them), but I'm a weird one-- I don't
mind admitting I watch soaps lol. If someone caught me watching them I'd just be like "...so?"
