Well cbs need not worry I have already filled my time slot here and when the light goes dark between 10:00 and 11:00 am so
does cbs on my tv... I'm planning on spending the time with the kids, or working on my writings, or relaxing with a dvd of GL and some coffee. To me there
is no replacement for GL plain and simple!!

Just what TV needs, another show with a bunch of screaming women, who have nothing better to do with their lives. I despise these kinds of shows. I can
barely tolerate the morning shows, because of all the darn screaming.

Guiding Light is on at 3:00PM, here. I can find all kind of things to do, at that time of day. And, I'll save space on my
dvr.
We sure don't need another game show!

I love Wayne Brady but I HATE game shows - always have! GL is the only show I even WATCH on CBS so once it goes, so does any reason for me to tune in to CBS
period.

You want to know what really got on my nerves the other day... the day of Michael Jackson's Funeral... GL was preempted... ok I get that, very sad.
However my local affiliate did not show a re-broadcast of GL even later that night/early morning of course mine here well, they never do. However they did replay a repeat episode that same week of The Price Is Right Valentine's Day episode, I caught sight of it briefly after GL ended, I don't watch the game show myself. I know The Price Is Right is supposed to be on here from 11:00 to 12:00 no matter whether they have a new show taped or not, and I get they have a fan base too I respect that...but for heaven's sake a repeat of a game show, but you can't re-broadcast a GL episode, though they can show endless infomercials during the day too, and the station dropped all local news here in April. Just fired the whole crew with two weeks notice. These are all reasons that besides GL and Y&R, which I catch on Soapnet anymore, I have ceased watching cbs. It is amazing... I taped purposely that night just in case they decided to show it nope. 
Oh well enough of a rant for today I hate to waste too much time on being negative. Tania in Pennsylvania

That same week here GL was partially pre-empted for two press conferences regarding the death of Steve McNair who was the former QB of the Tennessee Titans.
The first one was the coach talking and the other was the police telling us what we already knew or at least highly suspected (that he was killed in a
murder-suicide). Neither of these press conferences should have interrupted regular programming IMO.

Heh soaps are always pre-empted over here. I've gotten used to it very quickly. As for life for me post GL, General Hospital comes on at the same time as
GL for me, so that's what I'll be focusing on more.

They always pre-empt GL here. It is so annoying! And it is especially so when the actual event has already happened and we are just going over the announcer
re-hash. I am like "get on with it!"

GL gets preempted for a snowflake out here or an elusive robber or a freeway wreck. They never interupt commercials or game shows.

Not at all. There is counted cross stitch and stamped cross stitch. With the stamped, the picture is actually on the fabric and you just stitch over the
"stitches" already on the fabric. With counted you start with a piece of fabric and find the center and start at the center of your pattern using
whatever color the center stitch is and then you count over to the next place that needs that color and put another stitch. It is hard to explain but very easy
as long as you don't count incorrectly at some point.
I actually like counted better because I think it looks nicer because the stamped ones are hard to cover the pattern completely with the thread.

I will not be watching a game show or any other show once GL is not on.......I see it here from 2pm to 3pm - I'll just keep doing what I was doing at 1:59
and not take an hour break.
