Billy Proposes to Vanessa - SOW Article Summary
Just after Billy's botched attempt at "kidnapping" Vanessa and marrying her, the couple opts to slow things down this week - all the while unaware that their future with each other will be getting an unexpected jump start.
"I think what happened to Vanessa is that she got used to the idea of living a certain way and thinking about herself in a certain way. It can happen to a lot of women who've been capable and competent and have certain kinds of disappointments," says Maeve Kinkead (Vanessa). "It's like, 'Everything's fine and good, so let's not rock the boat'".
But, despite her confidence, the boat starts rocking. Following a date with Vanessa, Billy explains to Josh that he plans to woo her for a year and then propose. So, Josh and Olivia devise a plan to help rekindle the romance between Billy and Vanessa by essentially forcing Billy to propose. "She's lost that sense of herself as a potential partner because the thing with Matt was so devastating, so he sort of has to yank her chain and get her attention," explains Kinkead. "That's what they've written, and so, it's wonderful."
